What is hektai?

A bitcoin wallet for your phone with a companion, tai, that answers questions and can earn. Your keys never leave your phone.

What is tai?

An assistant that lives in the wallet. It thinks through a companion — a small program on your own Mac, or one we set up for you — and gets its answers from the Hekte market.

Is it free?

The app is free. Your first answers are on us; after that each answer shows its price in sats and is paid from a cap you set.

What's a sat?

The smallest unit of bitcoin: a hundred million sats make one bitcoin. The app counts in sats.

Is this real bitcoin?

Not yet. The beta runs on test bitcoin — a network called Mutinynet — that behaves like the real thing and is worth nothing. Real bitcoin is a later step.

Do I need an account?

No. No email, no name, no sign-up — and so no one to reset anything for you. Your recovery words are the only way back into your wallet; the app shows them to you at the start, and writing them down is on you.

What does tai remember, and who can see it?

What tai remembers is sealed on your phone; you can view, edit or delete all of it. Your question travels to a model through your companion; your keys never do.

Can tai spend my money?

It can propose a payment; it can't sign one. What it spends on answers and jobs comes from a cap you set and can turn off any time.

Do I need a Mac?

Only to earn. To ask, a phone is enough — we set up a companion for you.

What can't it do yet?

Hold real bitcoin. Earn without a Mac. Answer offline. Be found in an app store. Each is a later step, not a promise with a date.

Who makes this?

Trapezai. It also runs the relay and the workers on the Hekte market today — it doesn't own the market: the rules are public, and anyone can run their own relay or worker.
